About Us

WHO WE ARE

The Berks County Democratic Party (Berks Dems) is the official governing body of the Democratic Party in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Our roots date back to the Amicus Club, the oldest Democratic Club in the nation, and today we represent the majority of voters in Berks County. Our party represents the interests of working families, not greed and reckless speculation, and fights for equal opportunities and justice for all. With our local friends and allies, Berks Dems work in cooperation with the State and National Democratic Committees to promote Democratic values and elect Democrats to public office.

WHAT WE DO

Berks Dems represent Democrats in every region in Berks County. We are the infrastructure of the party, working to register and mobilize voters throughout the county, to support Democratic candidates and elected officials, and to put our Democratic values into action.

We want to represent Democrats in each of the 198 precincts in Berks County. Currently, there are many open seats. If you live in an unrepresented precinct, we need you to join us so together we can make a difference. Learn about your Committee People here. Click here for instructions on how to become a committee member or delegate at large.

Berks Dems meet every other month, on the third Saturday of the month-typically at the Sinking Spring Fire Company, 836 Ruth Street, Sinking Spring, PA 19608-but location varies, so please check on the calendar. Meetings are open to the public. Coffee is served at 9am, and meetings begin at 9:30am.

COUNTY COMMITTEE

The Berks Dems are your elected representatives in the Berks County Democratic Party, with one Committeeman and one Committeewoman position for each precinct. Some precincts also have Delegates at Large. Eight committee people are also members of the State Committee, representing Berks Dems at the State party level.

The County Committee is divided into six regions for organizing purposes.  Contact your Committee Person or Region Coordinator to get involved.
